HasNa’s Women’s Microbusiness Training
Programs strive to empower women living in the southeastern region
of Turkey by giving them the skills and confidence needed to become
productive members of their society. Our training programs provide
a platform for women who want to start or improve their own businesses
by teaching them about entrepreneurship and small business management,
and how to secure financing for their endeavors.
Beyond the technical skills HasNa provides,
is the confidence and encouragement these women need to become
industrious members of society in a region where women are often
overlooked as being viable financial contributors for their families
and schooling for girls often ends after elementary level.
In spite of these hardships, the women who have
participated in HasNa’s programs are full of enthusiasm
and determination to provide a better future for themselves and
their families. The successes of the women trained by HasNa programs
serve as inspiration for other women to realize their potential
and seek training through HasNa.
HasNa, in conjunction with Anatolian Artisans,
who provides the microbusiness training, has trained five groups
of women since 2003. We trained 20 women in Sanliurfa in 2003,
19 women in Kilis in 2006, 13 women in Mardin in 2007, 17 women in Sanliurfa in 2008, and 15 women in Kars in 2009.
We would like to thank Chevron for funding our training in Kars in 2009. |
